Privacy policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Vessel Spares collects through vesselspare.com, why we collect it, who receives it and what rights you have. We collect only what we need to answer your request.

Who is responsible

The person responsible for your data is Esteban Javier Mello Oleynick, trading as Vessel Spares (tax ID RUT 221074960011), Montevideo, Uruguay. Contact: management@vesselspare.com.

What we collect

Only what you give us, plus a technical detail:

What we use it for

To answer your request, prepare the offer and the proforma invoice, arrange transport and customs clearance, give you the tracking of your order, meet our tax and customs obligations and protect the site against spam. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.

Who receives it

Only those who need it to complete your order: freight forwarders, customs agents, couriers, banks and, when necessary, the party that releases or ships the part. We give them only what is needed. Our service providers for web hosting and e-mail store the data on our behalf.

Where it is stored

On the servers of our hosting provider, in a private area that cannot be reached from the web and is protected by a password. The data may be processed in other countries, including Uruguay, from where we operate. The site uses fonts served by Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google when the page loads.

Cookies

We use no advertising or analytics cookies. The site remembers the language you chose in your browser and nothing else. The supplier and administrator area uses a session cookie that is needed to keep you logged in.

How long we keep it

Orders and their documents: for the period required by Uruguayan tax and commercial law, at least five years. Enquiries that do not become an order, and the files attached to them: up to two years, then they are deleted.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, update or delete your data, or object to its use, by writing to management@vesselspare.com. We answer promptly and always within the legal term.

Uruguayan Law No. 18,331 on personal data protection applies. You can lodge a complaint with the Unidad Reguladora y de Control de Datos Personales (URCDP). If you are in the European Union, the rights of the GDPR also apply to you.

Security

The database is kept outside the public folder of the site, access requires a password and the connection to the site is encrypted (HTTPS). No system is completely safe: if a breach affects your data we will tell you and the authority as the law requires.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
